Mineral Characterization: Combination of Almandite and Pyrope varieties of garnet.


General Description:
Garnet, a homogeneous mineral, contains no free chemicals. All oxides and dioxides are combined chemically as follows: Fe2O3Al2(SiO4)3.
The iron and aluminum ions are partially replaceable by calcium, magnesium and manganese.

Slightly magnetic (volume susceptibility =9.999375).

Non-hygroscopic, inert.
